Como as fontes de energia do mundo diminuiram, o Orpheus, um submarino de pesquisa, mergulha no fundo do Oceano Ártico à procura de novas fontes de energia renovável, mas estranhas circunstâncias levam a equipe a enfrentar a falta de oxigêncio e problemas de comunicação com a superfície.
